Mission for Called to Love 2020

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you… . (Matt 28:19-20)

This is the mission of every Christian, given to us by Jesus. As women, we take on this mission in a particular way as we are primarily responsible for living out this mission in and through our homes. Our homes can be places for evangelization – places where we help make disciples of our family, our friends, and all who come to our homes.

Our Archdiocese can be seen as a network of homes – a network of domestic churches – and we can help each other create sacred space, sacred time and sacred rituals in our homes. Using the liturgical calendar and the traditions of our Church, we can help each other find holy moments in the lives of our family & friends and bless those moments.

All of us have lived through a period of time unlike anything we have experienced before. As we look back on the past few months and look towards the future, we realize that Our Lord is indeed making something new. It is up to us as to how we go forth from here. God is making a way. Will we choose to follow a new path of discipleship in our homes?

Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; See, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? In the wilderness I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers. (Isaiah 43-18-19)

Join with other women of the Archdiocese of Mobile as we come together for a day of renewal and refreshment as we learn new ideas for making our homes places of love for Our Lord and for each other. Let us support each other in the mission of Christian women!

“Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do,

but how much love we put in the action that we do.”
